Freedom of speech

Radical Islam is against freedom of speech. U cannot speak against anything they interpret as Islamic. The punishment will be shutting the speech of that persons. Plus thousands of others who are collateral damage.
The bastards have abused women, killed children, sodomised girls, ridiculed laws of the land by still holding on to antique laws .... I am sure even Allah would disown them. What the hell do they shout allahu Akbar ??? What did they achieve? They are making life more difficult for the other Muslims around.
We have terrific friends and aquaintainecs and I can vouch for them with eyes closed. But the next time a human meets an unknown Muslim dont u think these thoughts will enter the head? They are doing disservice... These hard working Muslims in other areas of the world will bear the brunt of it. They will be shunned, ignored and definitely will be avoided. Radicalism is there in every religion. The jihad or terror is unbecoming.

Raghudon says its time to either for them to stop it or the world should unite with extreme force and wipe out these elements. Start with the training grounds and indoctrinie centers - Pakistan, agfanistan, Iraq, Syria.
Get support of the local good guys and explain and I am sure its just gonna happen soon. India has borne brunt. Israel has borne brunt. Now Australia and France have got the flavour... Ita a matter of time before US or UK will have an event and then all hell will break loose.

Goal Setting

Creating S.M.A.R.T. Goals

Specific

Measurable

Attainable

Realistic

Timely

Specific: A specific goal has a much greater chance of being accomplished than a general goal. To set a specific goal you must answer the six "W" questions:

*Who:      Who is involved?

*What:     What do I want to accomplish?

*Where:    Identify a location.

*When:     Establish a time frame.

*Which:    Identify requirements and constraints.

*Why:      Specific reasons, purpose or benefits of accomplishing the goal.

EXAMPLE:  A general goal would be, "Get in shape." But a specific goal would say, "Join a health club and workout 3 days a week."


Measurable - Establish concrete criteria for measuring progress toward the attainment of each goal you set.

When you measure your progress, you stay on track, reach your target dates, and experience the exhilaration of achievement that spurs you on to continued effort required to reach your goal.

To determine if your goal is measurable, ask questions such as……

How much? How many?

How will I know when it is accomplished?


 

Attainable – When you identify goals that are most important to you, you begin to figure out ways you can make them come true. You develop the attitudes, abilities, skills, and financial capacity to reach them. You begin seeing previously overlooked opportunities to bring yourself closer to the achievement of your goals.

You can attain most any goal you set when you plan your steps wisely and establish a time frame that allows you to carry out those steps. Goals that may have seemed far away and out of reach eventually move closer and become attainable, not because your goals shrink, but because you grow and expand to match them. When you list your goals you build your self-image. You see yourself as worthy of these goals, and develop the traits and personality that allow you to possess them.


Realistic- To be realistic, a goal must represent an objective toward which you are both willing and able to work. A goal can be both high and realistic; you are the only one who can decide just how high your goal should be. But be sure that every goal represents substantial progress.

A high goal is frequently easier to reach than a low one because a low goal exerts low motivational force. Some of the hardest jobs you ever accomplished actually seem easy simply because they were a labor of love.


Timely – A goal should be grounded within a time frame. With no time frame tied to it there's no sense of urgency. If you want to lose 10 lbs, when do you want to lose it by? "Someday" won't work. But if you anchor it within a timeframe, "by May 1st", then you've set your unconscious mind into motion to begin working on the goal.
Your goal is probably realistic if you truly believe that it can be accomplished. Additional ways to know if your goal is realistic is to determine if you have accomplished anything similar in the past or ask yourself what conditions would have to exist to accomplish this goal.

T can also stand for Tangible – A goal is tangible when you can experience it with one of the senses, that is, taste, touch, smell, sight or hearing.

When your goal is tangible you have a better chance of making it specific and measurable and thus attainable.


Goal Setting – Powerful Written Goals In 7 Easy Steps!

The car is packed and you're ready to go, your first ever cross-country trip. From the White Mountains of New Hampshire to the rolling hills of San Francisco, you're going to see it all.

You put the car in gear and off you go. First stop, the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.

A little while into the trip you need to check the map because you've reached an intersection you're not familiar with. You panic for a moment because you realize you've forgotten your map.

But you say the heck with it because you know where you're going. You take a right, change the radio station and keep on going. Unfortunately, you never reach your destination.

Too many of us treat goal setting the same way. We dream about where we want to go,
but we don't have a map to get there.

What is a map? In essence, the written word.

What is the difference between a dream and a goal? Once again, the written word.

But we need to do more then simply scribble down some ideas on a piece of paper. Our
goals need to be complete and focused, much like a road map, and that is the purpose
behind the rest of this article.

If you follow the 7 steps I've outlined below you will be well on your way to becoming an
expert in building the road maps to your goals.

1. Make sure the goal you are working for is something you really want, not just something that sounds good.

I remember when I started taking baseball umpiring more seriously. I began to set my sites on the NCAA Division 1 level. Why? I new there was no way I could get onto the road to the major leagues, so the next best thing was the highest college level. Pretty cool, right. Wrong.

Sure, when I was talking to people about my umpiring goals it sounded pretty good, and many people where quite impressed. Fortunately I began to see through my own charade.

I have been involved in youth sports for a long time. I've coached, I've been the President of leagues, I've been a treasurer and I'm currently a District Commissioner for Cal Ripken Baseball. Youth sports is where I belong, it is where my heart belongs, not on some college diamond where the only thing at stake is a high draft spot.

When setting goals it is very important to remember that your goals must be consistent with your values.


2. A goal can not contradict any of your other goals.

For example, you can't buy a $750,000 house if your income goal is only $50,000 per year. This is called non-integrated thinking and will sabotage all of the hard work you put into your goals. Non-integrated thinking can also hamper your everyday thoughts as well. We should continually strive to eliminate contradictory ideas from our thinking.


3. Develop goals in the 6 areas of life:

Family and Home

Financial and Career

Spiritual and Ethical

Physical and Health

Social and Cultural
Mental and Educational

Setting goals in each area of life will ensure a more balanced life as you begin to examine and change the fundamentals of everyday living. Setting goals in each area of live also helps in eliminating the non-integrated thinking we talked about in the 2nd step.


4. Write your goal in the positive instead of the negative.

Work for what you want, not for what you want to leave behind. Part of the reason why we write down and examine our goals is to create a set of instructions for our subconscious mind to carry out. Your subconscious mind is a very efficient tool, it can not determine right from wrong and it does not judge. It's only function is to carry out its instructions. The more positive instructions you give it, the more positive results you will get.

Thinking positively in everyday life will also help in your growth as a human being. Don't limit it to goal setting.


5. Write your goal out in complete detail.

Instead of writing "A new home," write "A 4,000 square foot contemporary with 4 bedrooms and 3 baths and a view of the mountain on 20 acres of land.

Once again we are giving the subconscious mind a detailed set of instructions to work on. The more information you give it, the more clearer the final outcome becomes. The more precise the outcome, the more efficient the subconscious mind can become.

Can you close your eyes and visualize the home I described above? Walk around the house. Stand on the porch off the master bedroom and see the fog lifting off the mountain. Look down at the garden full of tomatoes, green beans and cucumbers. And off to the right is the other garden full of a mums, carnations and roses. Can you see it? So can your subconscious mind.


6. By all means, make sure your goal is high enough.

Shoot for the moon, if you miss you'll still be in the stars. Earlier I talked about my umpiring goals and how making it to the top level of college umpiring did not mix with my values. Some of you might be saying that I'm not setting my goals high enough. Not so. I still have very high goals for my umpiring career at the youth level. My ultimate goal is to be chosen to umpire a Babe Ruth World Series and to do so as a crew chief. If I never make it, everything I do to reach that goal will make me a better umpire and a better person. If I make it, but don't go as a crew chief, then I am still among the top youth umpires in the nation. Shoot for the moon!


7. This is the most important, write down your goals.

Writing down your goals creates the roadmap to your success. Although just the act of writing them down can set the process in motion, it is also extremely important to review your goals frequently. Remember, the more focused you are on your goals the more likely you are to accomplish them.

Sometimes we realize we have to revise a goal as circumstances and other goals change, much like I did with my umpiring. If you need to change a goal do not consider it a failure, consider it a victory as you had the insight to realize something was different.

So your goals are written down.

Now what?

First of all, unless someone is critical to helping you achieve your goal(s), do not freely share your goals with others. The negative attitude from friends, family and neighbors can drag you down quickly. It's very important that your self-talk (the thoughts in your head) are positive.

Reviewing your goals daily is a crucial part of your success and must become part of your routine. Each morning when you wake up read your list of goals that are written in the positive. Visualize the completed goal, see the new home, smell the leather seats in your new car, feel the cold hard cash in your hands. Then each night, right before you go to bed, repeat the process. This process will start both your subconscious and conscious mind on working towards the goal. This will also begin to replace any of the negative self-talk you may have and replace it with positive self-talk.

Every time you make a decision during the day, ask yourself this question, "Does it take me closer to, or further from my goal." If the answer is "closer to," then you've made the right decision. If the answer is "further from," well, you know what to do.

If you follow this process everyday you will be on your way to achieving unlimited success in every aspect of your life.

Whatever plans you are hoping to make, you will go through a process to get to your ultimate goal.

For most of us, this process involves:

1. Being unaware or uninterested in the need for goals

2. Considering the pros and cons that a goal will bring

3. Create a plan and take action.

4. Maintaining success over time.

 

  

 

Often times we have good intentions about the change we want to see in our lives, however, to take that next step from intention into action can be the difficult part. It is important to understand that if we do the same actions in our lives, we will get the same results. However, if we take different actions than we have before, we will get different results and be able to achieve the goals we have set for ourselves." In other words, "Do the same, get the same - Do different, get different!"

 SMART Goals - An Overview

Goal setting can help you manage change and handle the challenges that life may present to you.

There are goals and then there are SMART Goals.

 

S - Specific
M- Measurable
A - Attainable
R - Realistic
T - Timely

 

 

Specific: Being specific helps you clearly define what you are going to do.
Example: I will walk 5 miles at an aerobically challenging pace of 179 heart beats per minute, three times a week.

Measurable: When you measure your progress, you stay on track and this can motivate you.
Example: I can measure my target heartbeat by taking my pulse and I can chart your miles and frequency per week.

Attainable: A goal needs to stretch you slightly so you feel you can do it.
Example: Set a goal to walk one mile a day at first and then build up over time will keep it achievable for you.

Realistic: Realistic, in this case, means "do-able." The goal needs to be realistic for you and where you are at the moment.
Example: Walking 5 miles everyday may not be do-able for you but 3 times a week may be more achievable.

Timely: Set a timeframe for the goal. Putting an end point on your goal gives you a clear target to work towards.
Example: I can make this goal a habit at the end of 3 months.  

 

By having a vision in mind you can organize your daily tasks in a way that you develop positive habits that will build toward your eventual goal(s). Keep in mind it does take about 30 days to establish a habit. So - don't get discouraged in the early stages. Click on the image to the right to read more details about SMART Goal Setting.

 SMART Goals - An Example

 

Using a SMART Goal template may be helpful and a good place to start in your goal setting process.

1. Determine your "SMART" goal. It is important that your goal starts with a verb - action! Setting your SMART goal involves reflecting upon the following questions:

  • What goal do I most want to focus on right now?
  • What good things might happen if I work toward this goal?
  • What difficult things might happen if I work toward this goal?

 Answering the above questions will help you go from "thinking" about a goal to actually "creating" a goal. This reflection will help you develop a brief goal statement as seen in the goal example.

 

2. Identify the outcome or result that you will get in your life by achieving this goal. This will help you maintain your motivation.

 

3. Once you have picked a goal, list the tasks (actions/activities) you need to do to accomplish your goal.

It is important to place a time line on your actions in order to measure your progress and see if you need to make any adjustments as you move toward your goal.

 

4. List Your Support Network. A Support Network is made up of people who are supportive of your goals and believe that you can achieve your goals in life. It can include people who currently are supportive in your life as well as others others in your larger social network.

Not all people in your Support Network may be helpful in every goal you set for yourself. Keep this in mind when listing your Support Network for particular goals.

 

5. Be Proactive - Not Reactive - An important part of the goal setting process is to identify possible obstacles that may get in the way of achieving your goal. Being prepared and having plans to identify and manage obstacles will make you more successful in accomplishing your goals.

 

6. In order to overcome and manage obstacles it is important to identify resources and develop plans on how to make adjustments. You may want to discuss some of the obstacles with someone from your Support Network and identify resources. Remember the GPS LifePlan includes a lot helpful information and resources to make the adjustments needed to accomplish your goals.

 

Remember - having to adjust is not failure! In fact, in many of our plans, adjustments are vital in order to keep us moving forward and ensure we are able to successfully meet our goal.

1. Determine the goal you would like to work on and evaluate if it meets the criteria previously discussed of being a SMART goal:

2. Reflect on the following questions to develop your final outcome and results statement:

  • What goal do I most want to focus on right now?
  • What good things might happen if I work toward this goal?
  • What difficult things might happen if I work toward this goal? 

3. Establish attainable action steps including specific dates to guide you in moving forward on your time line toward achieving your goal.

4. Who is your Support Network for this particular goal you have set? Which individuals may be of assistance to you in helping you to achieve this goal?

5. Identify any obstacles that may prevent you from achieving this goal.

6. Brainstorm what adjustments you can make in order to overcome these obstacles to stay on track for achieving your goal.

We hope this workshop was beneficial to you. The GPS LifePlan has many resources and we encourage you to revisit the site often as you continue to work on your goals in order to accomplish the success you desire.

AS you accomplish your goals, it is important to reflect on how to best maintain your success. You may find it helpful to:

  • Reward yourself for your success while learning from your mistakes (ie., take time to watch a movie, treat yourself to something special)
  • Stay connected with individuals in your Support Network
  • Learn to deal with set-backs or what to do if things aren't working out as planned
  • Review your goal to see if you are still on track and consider setting additional goals if necessary
  • Share your goal with others - you will be more likely to achieve your goal when others know about it
  • Print out your goal template and hang it in places around your house that you will easily see it and it will be a quick reminder to keep you motivated in moving forward

Reaching your goals doesn't happen overnight - it takes time, commitment, and dedication. Often it also means finding extra support or motivation to keep working on your goal. It may be important to understand what will keep you motivated in working toward your goal and to also have a plan for what to do when you feel like giving up on your goal. Be sure to identify people in your Support Network who can be a part of this plan to keep you motivated and assist you in working toward accomplishing your goal.

Happy new year 2015


Making resolutions for the new year is a neat trap- you know you are going to break most of them, and feel terrible about it for the rest of the year!

Instead, I suggest you make a wish list. It is like a buffet spread-you can eat all or eat nothing-it depends on how hungry you are.

I have made a wish list. Which can provide the required magic to my life. It is like a beautiful buffet spread on a Saturday afternoon.

Starters: (pick any 2)

1.    I will try to get up early (you can accomplish 30 % more during 5 am to 10 am)
2.    I will exercise at least for 30 minutes 4 times a week (you have no choice on this)
3.    I will meditate /prey/ visualize positive things/do yoga for 30 minutes every day.

Main course (pick any 6)

1)  As soon as I step out of my door in the morning, I will behave as if I am on national television. My behavior will be impeccable.
2)  I will invest in best clothes I can afford-along with good shoes (It has been proved, that better dressed people earn 15 % more-all things being equal)
3)  At work, I shall do only things, which will increase my sales or reduce my costs. (Whatever you focus on-expands!)
4)  Will outsource everything, which is not my core competence. (Won't waste time on improving my weakness)
5)  Will reduce my mobile bills by 30 %.
6)  Will contact 3 customers every month, who have stopped doing business with me. (It is three times easier to convert old customers, than acquiring new once)
7)  Will personally talk to 20 % of my top customers every month. (They run my kitchen and will contribute 80 % to my sales)
8)    I will not call my employees on weekends or when they are on vacations. (They will respect me for that)
9)   I will at least take one risky decision, which I was always scared to take. (I don't want to die of boredom-do you?)
10)  I will train my brain to think creatively every day. I will try to do different things to exercise my brain muscles- try new style & color of clothes; go to new restaurants, visit zoo; listen to different music; visit toy shop to observe children buying toys, be nice to my mother-in-law.
11)  I will do five things everyday, which will take me closer to my goals. (Make this as my screen saver)
12)  I will not forget to market myself every day.

Desert (pick all)

1.    I will take 2 vacations in a year.
2.    I will devote at least one day (Saturday) for family only. No business calls, no laptops. Does not matter, how big my business/position is.
3.    I will smile at everyone I meet. (Even to the liftman)
4.    I will hug my spouse everyday in multiples of three.
5.    I will watch one movie in a cinema hall every month (it is therapy for the soul..Alhamdullilahaa! !!!)
6.    I will read at least 2 books in a year.
7.    I will do one thing, which I was always fearful about.
8.    I will call two old friends, whom I have not spoken for years.
9.    I will do one thing, which makes me truly happy. Does not matter if my wife or children get mad at me.
10.    I have got only 52 weekends. I will not let anybody spoil them.
